I have additional successful student supervision and tutorship experience through co-supervising a year in industry undergraduate student at Swansea University to digitise and georeference an historical, handwritten ringing record of seal pup data from the 1950s. Under my supervision, this student gained direct experience in handling spatial data (including location errors) and became proficient in R coding. This student is co-author on a reviewed manuscript led by me, plus a second manuscript which analyses these digitised record. This student recently defended their MRes thesis (2019), along with 1 other successful MRes student defence (2018), both whom I tutored on the design of their telemetry devices. I also co-supervised two Engineering undergraduate students in Computational Fluids Dynamics analysis for my 5th PhD chapter; both are co-authors on published work (Kay et al. 2019, Meth Ecol Evol, 10(8)). I was recently approached by Professor Luca Börger to tutor one of his colleagues (a PhD student) on data analysis using advanced hidden Markov statistical modelling, given my expertise in this.
