Won the Emergency Services ‘Blue Light’ Hero of the Year Award at the South Wales Health and Care Awards 2024, submitted a manuscript to the Journal of Animal Ecology, and chaired a roundtable discussion at the BES Annual Meeting 2024 on "Towards a statistics curriculum for ecologists". Published "Training Statistics-Savvy Ecologists", delivered the SWBio DTP Statistics Week, attended a communicating statistics to the public workshop at the University of Cambridge, went on holiday to the Canary Islands, and launched the RIDE HIGHER's Disability Inclusion Survey! Manuscript submitted to the Teaching Statistics journal, and an intense period of statistics teaching to MSc, MRes, Y1 UG students! Presenting research at Bioscience Education Summit 2024. Plant Based Universities - Cardiff won a 45 % vote share on its Students' Union Motion and I again led the teaching of the SWBio PhD Statistics Week. I married Leah! I also for the first time led the delivery of the Year 1 statistics tuition at the School of Biosciences, Cardiff University (> 500 students!). Awarded Pobl Trust grant for lifeboat station. A busy month - my twin brother and his wonderful (now) wife got married! I also presented at Bioscience Education Summit 2023 and CETL-MSOR 2023, signed the Plant-Based Universities Open Letter, developed the first "Statistics Shorts", and won the UK and Ireland Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Statistics Support. Shortlisted for Rising Star - Early Career Academic at the Celebrating Excellence Awards, Cardiff University Coastal Ecology Field Course in Pembrokeshire. Co-supervising my first MSc students from the School of Mathematics at Cardiff University I graduated from my PhD and proposed to my now fiancé(!) in the same day!
